INDIANAPOLIS - On Monday (March 5), IUPUI Chancellor Charles Bantz and the IUPUI campus will roll out the red carpet for Indiana University President-elect Michael A. McRobbie.
IUPUI will host a Welcome Reception for IU President-elect McRobbie from 1:30 to 3 p.m., Monday on the lower level of University Library. This reception is an opportunity for all IUPUI faculty, staff, and students to meet the future head of Indiana University and hear his vision for the university’s future. This event is also an opportunity for faculty, staff and students to convey the unique and exciting initiatives taking place on the IUPUI campus.
On Thursday, March 1, The IU Board of Trustees named McRobbie the 18th president of Indiana University.
“Michael McRobbie led the development of IU into the leading university in information technology - from PCs to supercomputers, from Internet2 to wireless campuses. He also played a major role in planning for Indiana University’s life sciences initiative,” said IUPUI Chancellor Charles R. Bantz. “Michael is a leader who will help carry forward IUPUI and the campus’s work on the Indiana Life Science Initiative.”
