INDIANAPOLIS - Joanne B. Ciulla will be the keynote speaker at the second annual Hazelett Women in Leadership Forum.
The Forum will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, in the Wynne Courtroom of the Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis. The law school is located at 530 West New York Street on the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) campus.
Ciulla's topic will be "Women as Leaders - Where They Are and What They Do."
Ciulla is a professor and the Coston Family Chair in Leadership and Ethics at the Jepson School of Leadership Studies at the University of Richmond. She is a founding member of the Jepson School, the only degree-granting school of leadership studies in the world.
She teaches courses on ethics, critical thinking, conflict resolution and leadership in international contexts. Her research interests are leadership ethics, business ethics, international leadership and the philosophy of work. Her books include Ethics, The Heart of Leadership; The Working Life: The Promise and Betrayal of Modern Work; and The Ethics of Leadership.
Ciulla has also held the UNESCO Chair in Leadership Studies at the United Nations International Leadership Academy in Amman, Jordan, and academic appointments at the Harvard Business School, The Wharton School, Boston University and Oxford University.
The presentation, which is free of charge and open to the public, will be preceded by a reception beginning at 4:30 p.m.
The Hazelett Women in Leadership Forum is a program of the Randall L. Tobias Center for Leadership Excellence. It is dedicated to the memory of Suzanne "Susie" Northam Hazelett, the former director of the Randall L. Tobias Foundation. Hazelett, who died of ovarian cancer in August 2004, was a tireless volunteer, teacher, education advocate and a consultant who is remembered for her dedication, intellect and wit.
