Campus Community Members Learn about IUPUI Police

INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI Citizens Police Academy has completed its third week, introducing 21 members of the university community to the history of the department as well as hands on experiences using radar and making traffic stops.

Campus Community members learn about police practices during IUPUI’s Citizens Police Academy

to help them understand the potential risks police officers experience while conducting traffic stops.

Future hands on experiences include evidence collection, crime scene management, building searches and active shooter training.

The IUPUI police would like to invite members of the media to attend future classes.
