Career Center Seeks Employers for Employment & Internship FairINDIANAPOLIS – The Office of Student Employment and IUPUI Career Center have worked for many years to provide job and internship opportunities to IUPUI students. As more and more individual departments and units begin to promote internships and experiential education, Student Employment is looking forward to the opportunity to partner with them to help IUPUI students. Please encourage the employers that your department or unit works with to attend IUPUI’s 2006 Student Employment & Internship Fair, held Wednesday, August 30, 2006 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
“This is a great opportunity to talk with students about job opportunities within your department,” said Tracie E. Hughes, Assistant Director, Student Employment. “It is also an easy, inexpensive way to look like a hero to your employer contacts who need to fill part-time positions SOON! And we really need more organizations in attendance offering internships… as well as student jobs.” To register for this event please visit: http://www.career.iupui.edu/upcomingevents/seif.asp. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email acknowledging your reservation. Because table space is limited, employers will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. The registration fee for this year’s event is $89 for for-profit organizations, $49 for non-profit/government organizations and $39 for IUPUI Departments. The registration fee includes a table, tablecloth, two chairs, two nametags, two boxed lunches, parking vouchers for two cars and a company identification sign. Electricity will not be available. The format for the job fair is a casual outdoor arrangement with employers located under tents, therefore cool, casual clothing is recommended for employers and students. Employers are also encouraged to sponsor the event or donate company items as prizes for students to be given away throughout fair. Reservations must be in our office no later than Friday, August 18th. For more information, contact Tracie E. Hughes at 274-0862 |
