Director to Attend Global Women Leaders Program

INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI Office for Women director, Kathleen Grove, has been selected as one of 20 international women leaders invited to attend the Women Leaders for the World Leadership Development Program at Santa Clara University this July. The program is a ten day residential institute for women leaders in all sectors of society including business, government, non-profit, education, and religion.

This year women leaders will be coming from Afghanistan, Ghana, India, Kenya, Mexico, Poland, Turkey, and Uganda in addition to a cohort from the United States. All will come with a particular project in mind to accomplish and be provided with the coaching, skills and frameworks to vision, plan, and implement their idea in the context of global connections and global citizenship. They will also be provided a structure for connection and support following the program through the Global Women Leadership Network.

A sampling of last year’s projects includes the vision of the youngest woman in the Parliament of Uganda to increase the political participation of women in her country, the development of a micro-lending process for Nepalese women, and the development of a non-profit organization of Bay area women business leaders to provide resources for women in developing countries.

The program is jointly sponsored by the Leavey School of Business, the School of Engineering, and the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Santa Clara University.
