Ellen Poffenberger Elected President to Newly Established Indiana HR Chapter

INDIANAPOLIS – Ellen Poffenberger, IUPUI assistant vice chancellor for Human Resources, was recently elected as the first president for the Indiana Chapter of College and University Professional Association for Human Resources.

Poffenberger has led the efforts to create the Indiana Chapter of CUPA-HR, in collaboration with other human resources leaders from around the state. Her enthusiasm about assisting with those inaugural efforts reflects her strong commitment to advancing professionalism among human resources practitioners in Indiana colleges and universities.

“We have a great deal of talent among our HR professionals and it will be advantageous to establish regular opportunities to share best practices, network, and attend workshops, seminars and conferences,” Poffenberger said. “The convergence of HR professionals from large, small, urban, rural, public and private colleges and universities will bring a richness of diverse experience for all involved.”

Nationally, CUPA-HR has consistently elevated human resources practice in higher education. Poffenberger is pleased that Indiana human resources professionals can benefit from the added support from the national office, strengthening advocacy, skill building and human capital management.
