Herron's Spectrum Group Exhibits at the Indiana State Museum

INDIANAPOLIS – "Heritage Spectrum" is a unique art exhibit honoring the past while celebrating the accomplishments of today's diverse student artist. Visit the Indiana State Museum's Legacy Theater, now through January 2007. The paintings, sculptures, videos and other works were created by students in Herron's Spectrum Group, which provides a forum for Herron's many ethnic minority students to gather as one body to create exhibition and outreach opportunities.Visitors to the Legacy Theater will have the chance to meet the Spectrum artists through a special DVD presentation or in-person during demonstrations conducted by the artists.

Participating students include Group President Brett Allen, Leticia Alvarez, Colette Ross Bogan, Berthrum Cooper, Jamie Hardy, Jennifer Hutchinson, Leah Keel, Susan Peters, Beatriz Vasquez, Kendra Washington, Ivery Wilson and Faculty Mentor Vance Farrow.

Farrow, Assistant Professor of Foundation Studies, says, "I am very proud of the fact that the students have represented their school to the best of their abilities, and used their accomplishments to reach out to others who may become Herron's future minority students...and Spectrum members."
