Let the Bidding Begin! IUPUI Athletics Auction Holds Kickoff Party

INDIANAPOLIS – Last year, the annual IUPUI Athletics Auction took a bold new twist, entering the age of the online marketplace.

This year’s auction fun begins with a Kickoff Party from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 21 at the University Place Hotel ballroom. Auction items include exciting trips/vacations, autographed sports memorabilia, gift certificates to popular Indianapolis restaurants and more.

Simultaneously the second annual IUPUI Athletics Online Auction will begin at 6 p.m. April 21 and run through 9 p.m. on May 1 at www.iupuijags.com.

“(The Kickoff) is an opportunity to spend an evening with the student-athletes, coaches and administrators that all play a vital role in the IUPUI Athletics Department,” said Athletics Development Director Eric Utterback.

All the proceeds from the auction benefit IUPUI Student-Athlete Scholarships. Over the past four years, the auction has raised more than $125,000. IUPUI Athletics accounts for nearly 250 student-athletes annually, with more than 80 percent having attended high school within the state of Indiana.
