Herron’s Biggest Event of the Season: Open House and MoreINDIANAPOLIS – If you’ve been waiting to get your hands (and eyes) on some great artwork, this is your chance. On Friday, April 28, the community may view and purchase some of the best Herron student artwork available. The event begins at 9 a.m. with the Ceramics and More Sale, which includes pieces created by faculty and students in the ceramics and printmaking departments. The sale runs until 8 p.m. An evening reception kicks off at 6 p.m. with live music and refreshments. A juried student art exhibition of about 60 award-winning creations will be on display in the Marsh Special Projects Gallery. These top works have been selected by a panel of out-of-state art professionals. The evening continues with self-guided tours and student artwork displayed throughout the building. The reception is sponsored in part by the Herron Alumni Association, Sallie Mae, and WFYI/TV 20 FM 90.1, with support from the Indiana Arts Commission, Arts Council of Indianapolis and City of Indianapolis. The event is free and open to the public. Free parking will be available in the surface lot west of Eskenazi Hall. For additional information, contact (317) 278-9423. |
