Internationally Renowned Sculptor, Wim Delvoye.

INDIANAPOLIS – Belgium-born Wim Delvoye, one of the most famous sculptors working today, will lecture at Herron School of Art and Design March 7, 2006.

Working from his studio in Berlin, Delvoye has gained international recognition through his participation in major exhibitions including the Venice Biennale in 1990 and 1999 and Documenta IX in 1992. More recent projects include an exhibition for the Public Art Fund entitled "Wim Delvoye: Gothic," which was on view in Central Park and at Madison Square Park and survey exhibitions at the Musée d'Art Contemporain, Lyon, France and the Centro per l'arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci, in Prato, Italy.

According to David Russick, director/curator of the Herron Galleries, “Wim Delvoye is one of the most high-profile, influential, risk-taking artists of the day.” Delvoye’s lecture is free and open to the public.

The lecture will be held at 7:00 pm in the Frank and Katrina Basile Auditorium in the Herron School of Art and Design, 735 West New York Street, Indianapolis. Public parking is available in the IUPUI garage west of Herron.
