John Krauss Elected Chair of the Indiana Supreme Court's Commission on Continuing Legal Education

John L. Krauss

INDIANAPOLIS - John L. Krauss, director of the Center for Urban Policy and the Environment, clinical professor at the School of Public and Environment Affairs, and adjunct professor at the Indiana University School of Law, has been elected chair of the Indiana Supreme Court's Commission on Continuing Legal Education. Chief Justice Randall T. Shepard announced the appointment today.

The mission of the Commission for Continuing Legal Education is to enhance the quality of legal services and professionalism in Indiana through administering, developing and regulating continuing legal education requirements, mediation training standards and attorney specialization programs.

A former deputy mayor of Indianapolis , Krauss joined Indiana University 's School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) in 1991. In 1992, he was a co-founder of SPEA's Center for Urban Policy and the Environment, a nonpartisan applied research organization. He is also director of the Indiana Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations (IACIR) and was instrumental in its creation by the Indiana General Assembly in 1995.

Krauss teaches graduate-level courses in mediation, urban decision-making, law and public policy, and urban management. He also directs the Law School 's civil mediation certification program.
