“Top 100” Students to Be Recognized, Nominations Due Feb. 2

INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI Alumni Council and the Student Organization for Alumni Relations are accepting nomination forms for the 2006 IUPUI Top 100 Student Recognition Awards.

IUPUI will honor its “100 Outstanding Students” during an awards banquet on Friday, April 7, 2006, at the Westin Hotel Indianapolis

The banquet includes the naming of the most outstanding female student, most outstanding male student, and special recognition of the top 10 outstanding females and the top 10 outstanding males.

The recognition program, now in its seventh year, has been a success due to the active participation of IUPUI faculty, staff, students and alumni, said Alumni Council Chair Stephan Viehweg. The program is an opportunity for the entire IUPUI family to pull together and acknowledge the accomplishments and contributions of students, he said.

“There are so many incredible students on this campus. This is an opportunity to appreciate what they do, not only for themselves, but the way they give back to the community,” Viehweg said.

Invitations to the recognition banquet will be mailed in early March to the students, their parents or the guests, including faculty and staff nominators.

To access the online nomination form, go to the Web site http://www.alumni.iupui.edu.

Nominees for this prestigious award must be juniors or seniors. For additional information, visit http://alumni.iupui.edu, or contact Kimberly Helton by phone, (317) 274-8905; or e-mail, kdhelton@iupui.edu.
