Conference to Promote Entrepreneurship among Nursing Professionals

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana University School of Nursing, in collaboration with Community Health Network, is presenting its first national conference on nurse entrepreneurship/intrapreneurship on February 10-11, 2006, at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Indianapolis. Nurses from around the state and across the country will learn from experts and business leaders how to start a business, bring an idea to market, and/or grow an existing business.

Nurses have extensive intellectual capital for providing valuable consulting services, harnessing ideas for innovative products, and developing new ways to improve the delivery of patient care and nursing education. What many of these health care professionals need is the knowledge necessary to turn their ideas into products or business processes that can lower costs and improve outcomes. The National Nurse Entrepreneurship Conference will provide that information to participants.

For more information and to register for the conference, go to http://www.nursing.iupui.edu/LifelongLearning and click on “Nurse Entrepreneurship” or contact the Office of Lifelong Learning at IU School of Nursing at (317) 274-7779.
