IUPUI Prepares for 2006 Day of Service to Honor Legacy of Dr. King, Volunteer Sign-Ups UnderwayINDIANAPOLIS - Registration is now underway for the 2006 IUPUI Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. Organized by undergraduate students through the Center for Service and Learning, the event will begin with a celebration breakfast at 8 a.m. on Monday, January 16, 2006, at Hope Education Center, 1301 E. 16th St. The Day of Service continues an IUPUI tradition of living out King's legacy of civic engagement by spending the holiday observed in his honor as a "day on" of service, rather than a day off.
