Class Schedules To be Available Exclusively Online in 2006

INDIANAPOLIS - Online versions of listings of courses offered at IUPUI each semester will soon replace printed versions of the class schedules.

Effective with the Spring 2006 Schedule of Classes publication, IUPUI will no longer print a listing of course offerings.

While the Registrar's Office will continue to produce and distribute the narrative portion of the Schedule of Classes, the printed document will not list courses offered for the term.

Departments interested in a paper version of their course offerings or students who are interested in printing portions of the schedule, can access two new on-line versions of the Schedule of Classes course listings now available on the Registrar website:  http://registrar.iupui.edu/schedule.htm.  Each version serves a specific need or group of constituents, with one in the same format as the familiar Schedule of Classes course listing.

In addition to the obvious savings, this change will actually be a service to IUPUI students. Changes/additions come in routinely so the printed course offerings are both inaccurate and incomplete when printed. The course listings on the Web site will be updated on a routine schedule so students will have current data from which to prepare their class schedules.

A survey of Urban 13 colleagues found that five have already eliminated the hard-copy class listings and five more are actively considering it. IU-Bloomington ceased producing the class listings in fall 2004.
