IUPUI Professor, Two Other IU Faculty Named SBC Fellows

INDIANAPOLIS - IUPUI Assistant Professor Wanda Worley is one of the three Indiana University faculty members who have been selected to receive the first set of this year's IU SBC Fellow Awards to develop teaching and learning technologies.

Each of the three recipients is awarded a $2500 grant to pursue applications in the category of Preparing for Innovation. Fellows will share best practices for solving complex issues associated with moving course materials from the original Oncourse system to the new Oncourse Collaboration and Learning environment.

Worley, director of technical communications in the Purdue School of Engineering & Technology at IUPUI, has received a Fellow Award for the project entitled "Preparing Innovation in Technical Communication: An Evaluation and Planning Study."

Other award recipients are Dennis Groth of Indiana University Bloomington and Margaret Branstrator of Indiana University East.

Two more sets of grants, in the categories of Examining Innovation ($5,000 grant level) and Implementing Innovation ($15,000 grant level), will be awarded during the 2005-2006 academic year. Deadlines for submissions are Sept. 19, 2005, and Jan. 9, 2006, respectively. The award program is administered by UITS.
