Three Women Honored as Campus Leaders

INDIANAPOLIS - In celebration of Women's History Month, three IUPUI women were honored as Outstanding Women Faculty and Staff Leaders at this year's Annual Women's Leadership reception on Wednesday, March 30th.

Missy Kubitschek, Department of English, received the Outstanding Woman Faculty Award. Julia M. Lash, Associate Director of Counseling and Psychological Services, received the Outstanding Woman Staff Award. In a new category for part-time faculty or staff, the award went to Julie Hatcher, Associate Director, Center for Service and Learning.

The women were selected from nominations and testimonials made by colleagues and students across campus. Each woman will receive a plaque and make remarks on "Women and Leadership" at the annual event sponsored by the Office for Women and Campus & Community Life. Their remarks will be available on the Office for Women website, www.opd.iupui.edu/ofw/. Additionally, all nominees will be recognized and celebrated at the invitational event.

Those nominated this year in the Full-time Faculty category include: Lisa Angermeier, Beth Berghoff, Bonnie Blazer-Yost, Gail Bennett, Mary Fisher, Kathleen A. Hanna, Nicole Keith, Christine Leland, Anastasia Morrone, Karyl Rickard, Susan Shephard, Catherine Souch, Jennifer Sterling Snodgrass, Naomi Swiezy, and Deborah Tompkins.

Nominees in the Full-time Staff category are: Rachel Beheler, Julie Bohnenkamp, Melissa S. Brown, Pamela Brown, Heather Eaton, Sharon Grohowski, Carole Hale, Alesia Hill, Sherry Kendall, Gail Plater, Gen Shaker, Kim Stewart-Brinston, Maggie Stimming, Diane Sweeney, Terri Talbert-Hatch, Terri Tarr, Sloane Thompson, and Etta Ward.

Tami Barreto, Virginia Kersey, Dr. Joan S. Pederson, and Bridget Tucker have been nominated in the Part-time Faculty or Staff category.

Members of this year's selection committee were Susan Canady, Eugenia Fernandez, Kristi Palmer, Gloria Quiroz, Kristy Sheeler, Lillian Stokes, and Kathy Grove.
