"Reading at the Table" Luncheon to Honor Dr. OchsINDIANAPOLIS - Dr. Sidney Ochs will be the guest of honor during the University Faculty Club's "Reading at the Table" lunch on March 30. Ochs will share insights from his book "A History of Nerve Functions: From Animal Spirits to Molecular Mechanisms," at the luncheon which takes place from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Faculty Club, located on the second floor of the University Place Conference Center. "A History of Nerve Functions" discusses the many creative ways science and pre-science have explained animal and human movement-from the impetus of "animal spirits" to the mechanisms that operate at the molecular level. Following the cutting of the "Reader's Cake," Dr. Ochs will sign copies of his book. Lunch guests who would like a signed copy of "A History of Nerve Functions," can purchase a copy with a lunch reservation, purchase a copy at the door, or bring their own copies for signing. Cost for the lunch buffet, which includes drinks and dessert, is $10. A lunch reservation with a copy of Ochs' book is $100, which includes a $10 discount on the book. Tax and gratuity are also required. Payment may be made by jagtag or checks. Cash and credit cards are not accepted. "Reading at the Table" lunches are open to all faculty and staff.
