Nominations Sought for IUPUI Annual Women's Leadership Awards

INDIANAPOLIS - IUPUI students, faculty and staff may nominate campus women leaders who are either full-time or part-time faculty or staff for recognition at the Women's History Month Leadership Reception in March.

As part of the Women's History Month observance at IUPUI, women leaders from across campus have been recognized and celebrated at the annual leadership reception. A special recognition for part-time women faculty or staff will be added this year.

IUPUI students, faculty and staff may nominate women leaders who are either full-time or part-time faculty or staff for recognition at the Women's History Month Leadership Reception. The selection committee will honor all nominees with recognition certificates. In addition, one full-time woman faculty member, one full-time woman staff member and one part-time woman faculty or staff member will be selected as a "2005 Outstanding Woman Leader" from the nominations received. These selections will be based upon a candidate's effort in all categories. These "Outstanding Woman Leaders" will be asked to present a short keynote address at the reception.

Nominees for this recognition should exhibit extraordinary effort and success in at least one of these categories:

• Commitment to teaching and/or service to students;
• Commitment to IUPUI and its mission;
• Commitment to serving others in the greater community;
• Service as a role model for students, faculty, or staff;
• Excellence in job performance or field of endeavor.

The leadership reception will take place on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in UC 115.
