Easier Access to IUPUI University Library Electronic Resources

IUPUI students, faculty and staff can now access most of the IUPUI University Library's online, licensed databases and journals from anywhere using any Internet service provider. Previously, remote access to campus-restricted electronic resources required an Internet connection through IUPUI's computer network. Now, through a recently implemented security system, remote users will be prompted for their IUPUI network ID and password when not dialing in through the IUPUI modem pool.

Procedures for obtaining an IUPUI network ID and password can be found at http://kb.indiana.edu/data/aehk.html. Assistance is also available from the IUPUI Help Desk at 274-HELP.

The University Library subscribes to hundreds of online resources. For a list of available online databases and journals, go to the Library home page at http://www.ulib.iupui.edu and click on "Library Databases and Electronic Journals" or go directly to http://www.ulib.iupui.edu/erefs/indexes.html. These alphabetical lists employ a series of icons to indicate the access availability (e.g., in-library access only or remotely accessible to authorized users) of each resource. Some of the University Library's newest online databases include Gale's Literature Resource Center, AccuNet/AP Photo Archive, and Oxford English Dictionary Online.

For further information, please contact the IUPUI University Library Digital Libraries Team Leader, Robin Crumrin, at 278-2327 or rcrumrin@iupui.edu.
