Grant Aimed at Encouraging Science Students to be Teachers

IUPUI Survey Finds Fewer Feel Safe in Downtown Indy
WISH-TV, Nov. 5, 2007 - Fewer people feel safe in downtown Indianapolis compared to two years ago, according to a new survey from IUPUI. The survey by the IUPUI Department of Tourism, Conventions and Event Management found 75 percent of people feel safe downtown during the daytime, down from 83 percent in 2005.

Pundit Says Indy is The Marquee Race
WIBC, The Morning News, Nov. 5, 2007 - IUPUI Professor Brian Vargas says if Tuesday's (November 6) election follows the normal pattern for Mayoral races, turnout should be around 25 percent in Marion County. Vargas says odd circumstances around the state will mean stronger interest in some elections than in others but Indianapolis is the marquee race because the city implemented the legislature's recommendation of a county income tax.

"Reid is a Church member," Shipps said. "But he is a convert...but he was not born into the Church. He didn’t get Mormonism with his mother’s milk, as it were. IU Hospital to Expand Home Dialysis Program
InsideINdianaBusiness.com, Oct. 23, 2007 - Indiana University physicians are planning a significant expansion of a program that enables kidney dialysis patients to perform their dialysis at home. Using suitcase-sized, portable dialysis units made by NxStage Medical Inc., patients perform their therapy in comparatively short daily sessions instead of the three-days-weekly routine used by patients at dialysis centers.
Dr. Kraus, professor of clinical medicine at the IU School of Medicine, was the principal investigator of a nationwide study of the NxStage System One, which received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in June 2005.

IU Medical School to Help Develop Nationwide Medical Records System
