The New York Times Introduces an Online Complement to College and University Courses
Verizon Small Business Center, Sept. 14, 2007 - The New York Times introduced a new online initiative that pairs Times content with faculty course material for both credit-bearing and continuing education courses This new component of Knowledge Network is available via the Epsilen Environment (www.epsilen.com), created by IUPUI Professor Ali Jafari.

Indianapolis Star, Sept. 10, 2007 - Pete Hylton, director of the IUPUI motor sports program demonstrated and discussed car safety devices with a class at Brownsburg East Middle School. Stephanie Mockler, a USAC Sprint car driver who attends IUPUI, also visited the class.

Engineering Professor Goes to Brownsburg Middle School
Hendricks County Flyer, Sept. 7, 2007 - Brownsburg East Middle School gateway to technology class features Pete Hylton, IUPUI director of motorsports for IUPUI's engineering program. Hylton spoke to classes about crushable structures and passenger protection. He also helped with crash experiments with student-designed vehicles.

Local Student Excels in Science and Academics
Indianapolis Recorder, Sept. 7, 2007 - Cathedral High School student Kyle Torain spent the summer in a chemistry lab at IUPUI researching the composition of kidney stones. Torain was the youngest participant in Project Seed. IUPUI science professor Kim Nguyen is quoted in this story.

New York Times Online Component to Use IUPUI Developed Technology
Inside Indiana Business, Sept. 6, 2007 - An Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis professor is partnering with The New York Times on his latest commercial venture. Ali Jafari has created Epsilen Environment, a web-based software package that will allow college and university faculty to use articles, graphics and video from The Times in its course material.

New York Times Develops Online Course Content
The Chronicle of Higher Education, Sept. 6, 2007 - The New York Times today began to pair its articles, multimedia offerings, and even its reporters with faculty-created course material. The project puts the newspaper's Knowledge Network on an interactive Web platform called Epsilen Environment, which was developed at IUPUI.

Indy's Air Quality takes Teamwork
Indianapolis Star, August 30, 2007 - University Place Conference Center and Hotel is doing its share to help improve air quality in this story about what companies can and are doing to keep the air in Indianapolis clean. University Place is changing to fluorescent light bulbs and is offering patrons linen re-use packages that will save on wastewater and energy use.

Playground Event to Raise Money for Children
Eyewitness News at 5, WTHR, Channel 13, August 28, 2007 - Some IUPUI students took to the playground to help raise money for children. The Phi Mu sorority members held a teeter totterathon to raise money for charity.

Software Maker Spreads Wings
Indianapolis Star, August 23, 2007 - Angel Learning, Inc. announces plans to double its staff and move to larger offices. Angel was co-founded by IUPUI engineering and technology Professor Ali Jafari.

Law School Alumnus to Argue Pro Bono Case before U.S. Supreme Court
IUPUI News Center, Sept 13, 2007 - IU School of Law-Indianapolis alumnus Todd Vare agreed to represent one Efrain Santos before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals on a pro bono basis. In a rare turn of events, Vare will argument the case before the U.S. Supreme Court.
