Columnist and Author Takes Aim at Getting Young People Involved in Political Process
|
Syndicated columnist and author Jane Eisner will discuss how to get young people to become involved in the political process in a lecture at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, in the Lilly Auditorium at University Library.
The event is one of a series of lectures and dialogues IUPUI is sponsoring as it examines civic engagement.
In her book, “Taking Back the Vote: Getting American Youth Involved in Our Democracy,” Eisner says the disenchantment of young people with the civic process is the “hottest civic issue of our time.”
Eisner’s column, “American Rhythms,” appears in more than 100 major newspaper nationwide. She also teaches in the Fox Leadership Program at the University of Pennsylvania.
