IUPUI Women Win First-Ever Mid-Con Tournament Game

The fifth-seeded IUPUI women's basketball team won their first-ever Mid-Con Tournament game beating fourth-seed Southern Utah on Saturday. Two baskets by freshman Amy Muehllhausen tied the game with just more than a minute of play and free throws by sophomore Tiffany Kyser and senior Angie Watt secured the 58-53 win. Watt scored a game-high 22 points, moving her to ninth on the IUPUI scoring list.

IUPUI Men Move to Second Round in First Mid-Con Tournament

Following the women's lead, the IUPUI men's basketball team upset fourth seed University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) on Sunday in their first ever Mid Continent Conference Tournament. While the lead changed several times during the first half, the Jaguars took control after the first minute of play in the second half. Senior Don Carlisle led the Jaguars in scoring with 16 points and 14 rebounds, earning his league-best 12th double-double. The final score was 54-52. The men's game will be broadcast on Fox Sports Network at 6 p.m.
