Walker Outstanding Woman of the Year AwardThe Center for Leadership Development (CLD) presented Khaula Murtadha, professor, Educational Leadership, IU School of Education at IUPUI, with its 2008 Madame C. J. Walker (Outstanding Woman of the Year) Award. The award will be presented Monday, March 17, at the CLD's 28th annual Minority Business and Professional Achievers Recognition Awards Dinner at the Indiana Convention Center. Bullies Extend Reach Through Cyber-Age ToolsVictims of bullies are no longer free from attacks even at home because those age-old nemeses of students everywhere have extended their reach through cyber-age tools like e-mail and text messages, James Brown, a PhD student at the Indiana University School of Social Work, points out. Data shows the new-age methods of bullying can be more distressing than the old-fashioned face-to-face taunts because there is such an anonymous component to it, Brown said.
