Anthem, IU School of Optometry Come Together To Focus on Diabetes

There is an estimated price tag of about $900 for the eye exams and other health services, including blood sugar and foot screenings, that 150 medically underserved, low-income Central Indiana residents with diabetes will receive at no charge during the fourth annual Anthem Focus on Diabetes Day, but don't tell Nancy that.

The 65-year-old woman knows the true value of the knowledge she received from last year's diabetes day screening: "It's priceless. Knowledge is powerful. I had been in denial. I wish I had known more about it when I was younger."

On Friday, October 26 Human Resources Administration will again host the IUPUI Health and Benefits Fair. The fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the University Place Conference Center on the second floor. Exhibitors will be available and mini-workshops will be held during this entire time; the fair will not be closed during the noon hour.

This year the organization is holdings its 80th Convention in Indianapolis from October 24-27.
