IUPUI Campus Center Naming Project to Link Present with Past
Three years ago when IUPUI opened new campus housing, 21 student residential "houses" and a street were named after individuals who had contributed significantly to the development of the city and the area IUPUI now calls home.
IUPUI will continue that tradition by naming spaces in its new Campus Center in honor and recognition of individuals who have contributed to the campus's rich history.
Nominations are now open for selecting individuals to be honored in a naming project for the Campus Center. Located at 420 University Boulevard, the center is set to open in December.
As the campus looks to the future, it's important for it to remember the past and recognize the people and activities that came before it, Chancellor Charles R. Bantz said...

Eggs on the Line during Race Crash Tests At IUPUI Youth Camp
The familiar "egg drop" will take the form of race track crashes during a youth summer camp Friday (June 29) at IUPUI.
With eggs standing in for "crash dummies," the middle school students attending an engineering camp will test whether the balsa wood vehicles they've built are capable of protecting a fragile passenger in a simulated crash.
The crash tests will take place at 12:30 p.m. Friday outside the southeast corner of the Engineering and Technology Building...

Glenn W. Irwin, Jr., M.D. Excellence Award Call for Nominations
The 2007 Glenn W. Irwin, Jr., M.D. Experience Excellence Recognition Award recognizes colleagues who go “above and beyond the call of duty.”
You are invited to nominate any full-time IUPUI faculty and/or staff member for the award. Nominees must have worked for the University a minimum of 12 months.
The IUPUI Glenn W. Irwin, Jr., M.D. Recognition Awards were established in 1984 as the IUPUI Experience Excellence Awards. At Dr. Irwin's retirement in 1986 the name of the award was changed to honor Dr. Irwin for the many significant contributions that he made to IUPUI. Guidelines developed by the original selection committee established a policy to present the awards to staff members and to faculty members on an annual basis.
This year the awards will be presented at the IUPUI Chancellor's Employee Recognition Convocation on Sept. 11, 2007.
Nominations are due no later than July 23, 2007, at 5 p.m.
Please review the nomination guidelines and submit your nominations on-line at http://www.hra.iupui.edu/IrwinAward.asp. Supporting documentation and any questions regarding the process should be directed to hratrng@iupui.edu.
