IUPUI Kart Team Places in Top 10
By virtue of its front row qualifying position, the IUPUI Motorsports entry in the April 21 Purdue Grand Prix was one of the pre-race favorites. However, problems struck early during the race when the IUPUI kart experienced a fouled spark plug. Late in the race, the IUPUI team was visibly the fastest, and ultimately finished 8th out of 33, which is the highest that an IUPUI team has ever placed.
This year's team members include crew chief Herb Payton, driver Jon Laski, Holly Brockman, Yan Volodarsky, Eric Young, Josh Whaley, and IUPUI Motorsports Club President Lynsey Tilton. |
