IUPUI Commencement Set for May 13 in RCA Dome
The 37th annual Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis Commencement ceremony will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 13, 2007, at the Indiana Convention Center and RCA Dome in downtown Indianapolis.
A total of 5,793 IUPUI students will be eligible to receive degrees during the commencement. In the joint ceremony, Indiana University will confer 4,640 of those degrees and Purdue University will confer 995.
IUPUI Chancellor Charles R. Bantz will preside over the ceremony. Indiana University President Adam W. Herbert and Purdue University President Martin C. Jischke will confer degrees respectively to IU and Purdue graduates...

Chancellor’s Academic Honors Convocation Update
The 2007 Chancellor's Academic Honors Convocation will take place at 5 p.m. today (April 27, 2007) in University Place Conference Center.
Awards to be presented include the Chancellor's Professorship and the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching, The Chancellor's Faculty Award for Excellence in Civic Engagement, and the Chancellors' Community Award for Excellence in Civic Engagement.

Outstanding Student Employees Named
In observance of Student Employment Appreciation Week, the Office of Student Employment recently recognized two outstanding individuals.
Joshua Sprunger is the 2007 Student Employee of the Year. Sprunger works as a communications graduate assistant for Adriene Davis in the Center on Philanthropy. As Student Employee of the Year, Sprunger received a plaque recognizing his accomplishments and a $125 Jags Bookstore credit.

Donors, Volunteers Contributing to Excellence of IUPUI Honored
Donors and volunteers who have contributed to excellence in a school or program at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis were honored today (April 26) at the 19th annual IUPUI Spirit of Philanthropy Luncheon and Awards ceremony.
In honoring the donors and volunteers, IUPUI Chancellor Charles R. Bantz said, "Philanthropy is a gift of faith and trust to which IUPUI must respond not only with gratitude, but also with accomplishments worthy of that trust."

Ivy Tech, IUPUI Establish First Joint Faculty Position
Ivy Tech Community College-Central Indiana and Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis have selected Dr. Peggy Apple to serve as a joint faculty member for the two institutions.
This is the first joint faculty appointment established by the two institutions. Ivy Tech and IUPUI have one existing joint staff member that assists Ivy Tech students in their transition from Ivy Tech upon completion of an associate degree to IUPUI for completion of a bachelor's degree.
Apple will teach elementary education courses for both institutions and will help students make a smooth transition between Ivy Tech's associate degree program in Education and the School of Education at IUPUI...

IUPUI Music Academy to Present "Performathon" at Circle Centre Mall
Students and faculty of the IUPUI Music Academy will present a "musical marathon" during the Academy's major fund-raising event for the year.
The fourth annual "Performathon" will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2007, near the Arts Garden on the second floor of Circle Centre Mall in downtown Indianapolis.
