U.S. Senator Evan Bayh called for a dramatic increase in breast cancer research funding at a reception for recipients of the Marvella Bayh Memorial Scholarship at Indiana University's Cancer Research Institute on IUPUI's campus today. Chaplain Exonerated after Guantanamo Bay Imprisonment to Speak at Law School
A former U.S. Army chaplain who was exonerated of all charges after being imprisoned at Guantanamo Bay will speak at IU School of Law-Indianapolis Thursday, April 12.
Chaplain James J. Yee, a third-generation Chinese American who served as a Muslin chaplain for the U.S. prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, spent 76 days in a Naval brig in 2003 after being arrested and accused of spying, espionage, and aiding alleged Taliban and Al-Qaeda prisoners. All charges against Yee were dropped and he was released following months of investigation.
Yee will speak on “Guantanamo Bay: The Pursuit of Justice” from 5 to 6 p.m., April 12 in the Wynne Moot Courtroom of the IU School of Law-Indianapolis, 530 W. New York St.

Robert B. Schnabel Selected Dean of IU School of Informatics
Indiana University President Adam W. Herbert announced today (April 3) that Robert B. Schnabel, an acclaimed computer scientist and researcher, will become the next dean of the IU School of Informatics pending approval by IU trustees.
Schnabel is vice provost/associate vice chancellor for Academic and Campus Technology and professor of computer science at the University of Colorado at Boulder. As vice provost, he serves as chief information officer of CU-Boulder, and as the director of the Alliance for Technology, Learning and Society (ATLAS) Institute.
