Exhibit Features Farming as Art
Herron Associate Professor Lamar Richcreek has captured the nature of farming in an exhibit that opens today, Dec. 15 at the Herron School of Art and Design.
“Farmscapes” will run through Jan. 14, 2007 in the Frank & Katrina Basile Gallery of Eskenazi Hall, 735 W. New York Street.
Through the integration of digital video and photographic print, Richcreek attempts to contrast the repetitive nature of cultivating land by independent, individual farmers to the highly mechanized, assembly-like and globally-oriented form of agricultural business that has overshadowed the small family enterprise.
The “Farmscapes” exhibit is one of two gallery openings scheduled for Dec. 15. For additional information about both events, go to: http://www.herron.iupui.edu/ new_web/news/calendar.html. |
