The many United Way agencies that receive funding through our pledges provide a variety of services not only at times of crisis but year-round. They need our support more than ever so that our safety net is securely in place—ready to see us through the unexpected should adversity hit close to home and ready every day for those in need.

Indianapolis attorney Rodney C. Richardson (left) is shown with attorneys Marya Jones Overby and Alan Mills during the Sept. 8 unveiling of a portrait of Richardson’s father, Henry J. Richardson Jr., at the Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis.
Henry J. Richardson Jr., a 1928 graduate of the law school, was a local civil rights activist and a distinguished alumnus of the law school. The Black Law Students Association sponsored the reception and commissioned the portrait in recognition of Henry Richardson’s achievements.
