Race for the Cure, this Saturday!
Traffic Alert! Race for the Cure This Saturday!

The Race for the Cure will be held on Saturday, April 22 and will greatly affect both traffic and parking on campus. The event begins with registration at 7 a.m., with race/walk start time of 9 a.m. and the closing ceremony at 11 a.m.

The race will begin and end on New York Street, bringing approximately 50,000 participants to campus. Expect congested traffic on Michigan and West streets prior to the event.

The easiest access to campus before and during the race will be from the West Street exit of I-65 (Exit 114). Students and faculty coming to campus from the east should use Michigan Street and those coming from the west should use 10th Street.

The Blackford Street garage and Lot 80 will be reserved for IUPUI permits during this event.

Please note the following closings:

  • New York Street, closed 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Blackford Street, from Michigan Street to the Canal, closed from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • University Boulevard south of Michigan closed at 8 a.m.

To access the Natatorium and the Sports Center, use Barnhill Drive and park in lots north of New York Street.

Also: Anyone parked south of New York Street after 7:30 a.m. Saturday should expect to remain parked there until approximately 11 a.m.

The University Faculty Club in Indianapolis invites the campus community to hear IU School of Liberal Arts Dean Robert White “Reading at the Table” from his book “Ruairí Ó Brádaigh, the Life and Politics of an Irish Revolutionary.”
