IUPUI Geology Professor Named Co-Editor of Top Geology Journal
Andrew Barth, associate professor of geology, has been named a co-editor of Geology magazine, with a four-year term beginning this month. Geology is the premiere geoscience journal in the world, publishing timely, innovative and provocative articles representing research from all fields of the geosciences. The journal has three co-editors spanning broad areas of expertise in the interdisciplinary field of geology. Barth's research specialties involve characterizing and interpreting the evolution of continental crust, including processes like mountain building, production of igneous material and erosion of landscapes. With vast field experience, ranging from the deserts of the southwestern United States to the frigid glaciers of Antarctica, Barth also employs cutting-edge geochemical measurements to decipher the age and temporal relationships of the rocks that he studies. |
