Dr. William J. Jackson
William Jackson Will Be “Reading at the Table” January 25

Dr. William J. Jackson will have fascinating ideas across several disciplines to share when he reads from “Heaven’s Fractal Net: Retrieving Lost Visions in the Humanities” from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25 in the University Faculty Club’s “Reading at the Table” lunch series. The event is open to all faculty and staff.

“Heaven’s Fractal Net” considers the relationship between the geometry of nature, which appears chaotic in appearance and process but actually can be described mathematically, and the recurring patterns of religious music, architecture and literature. Jackson looks at the ways “fractal concepts” can be used to describe patterns of human behavior, history and consciousness.

The author will sign books for lunch guests. Copies of the book will be available for $23.99 plus tax, or guests may bring their own copies.

The cost for the lunch buffet, including drinks and dessert, is $10. For reservations as required, call (317) 274-7014 or e-mail facclub@iupui.edu.
