   Professor of Chemistry, David J. Malik
Chemistry Professor to Join US Delegation to China

David J. Malik, Chancellor’s Professor of Chemistry at IUPUI, is one of 13 scientists nationally to participate this month in a U.S. delegation to China that will discuss Sino-U.S. undergraduate science, technology, engineering and mathematics education reform. One of two chemists representing the United States, Malik will present a plenary lecture on “Peer-led Team Learning and Other 21st Century Pedagogies” at Wuhan University.

The Sino-U.S. collaboration seeks to explore innovative strategies for improved undergraduate learning that have been instituted in both countries. Additionally, collaborators plan to develop future cooperative ventures of mutual benefit in the education of future scientists and engineers.

The initiative, led by Project Kaleidoscope, is supported by funding from the National Science Foundation. Project Kaleidoscope is one of the leading advocates for building and sustaining strong undergraduate programs in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
