
Art in the Public Eye: Created by former student Laura Lynch, this stainless steel and aluminum sculpture stands on a downtown site designated for display of public art created by Herron School of Art and Design students. The 12-foot sculpture stands near the Meridian Street Plaza “Southern Circle” sculpture created by internationally known artist Don Gummer, also a former Herron student.
Bantz Appoints Sherree Wilson as Special Assistant
IUPUI Chancellor Charles R. Bantz today (Dec.10) announced the appointment of Dr. Sherree Wilson as Special Assistant to the Chancellor. Dr. Wilson will take major responsibility for special projects including a review of IUPUI's efforts in diversifying faculty and administration. In addition, as a member of the Chancellor's cabinet, Dr. Wilson will work along with senior campus leaders to develop plans and objectives for the administration; she will also represent the Chancellor's office on campus and university committees and serve as a liaison between the campus and external community organizations, including a variety of business, professional, and governmental groups.

Cheryl Sullivan has returned to IUPUI, resuming her post as vice chancellor for external affairs. In October 2003, Governor Joe Kernan asked Sullivan to head up the state’s largest agency, the Family and Social Services Administration.

Sullivan accepted the assignment, saying she would return to IUPUI at the end of 2004.

One of the newest additions to the National Art Museum of Sport, which is celebrating its 45th anniversary, is a portrait of basketball legend Larry Bird by Indianapolis artist Doug Daniel. The portrait’s commission was made possible by a grant from Cinergy Foundation.

Amanda Pinkston, a senior at IU Kelley School of Business on the IUPUI campus, has been named the winner of the APICS-The Association for Operations Management's Donald Fogarty International Student Paper Competition.
