PAINTING AND SKETCHES CREATED BY HERRON SCHOOL OF ART PROFESSOR DURING VIETNAM WAR ON DISPLAY
Hundreds of thousands of American soldiers went to war in Vietnam carrying guns. Only 14 went armed with paintbrushes and sketch pads. One of those combat artists is Professor Richard Nickolson, who will see his Vietnam sketches and paintings for the first time since he created them three decades ago.

WHEN IT COMES TO CORRECTLY IDENTIFYING ORGANISMS SUCH AS PEOPLE, BUTTERFLIES AND JELLYFISH AS ANIMALS, KIDS GET IT WRONG.
Two IUPUI School of Education professors studied responses from students in grades K-8 in 180 classrooms across the U.S. who were asked to divide pictures of organisms into those that were animals and those that were not. Among the findings: more than one-third of students in grades 6-8 did not identify humans as animals.

When a survey conducted by Professor Hadi Yamin showed project managers for highway projects were in short supply, he started a new highway technology class this fall. Thanks to that class, a 24-year-old student can pursue her dream of becoming a project manager for construction sites.
