PAINTINGS BY J. EDGAR WEBB NOW IN CAVANAUGH
Sixteen oil and pastel paintings by J. Edgar Webb, professor emeritus of communication studies/theatre, now decorate the walls of the School of Liberal Arts offices in Cavanaugh Hall, Room 441. The paintings, on loan from the artist, include "Mother At Forty-Five," an oil portrait of the artist's mother, and "Dorothy Love," a pastel of Webb's wife, Dorothy. Dorothy Webb, professor emeritus of communication studies, is founder of the Waldo M. and Grace C. Bonderman IUPUI National Youth Theatre Playwriting Symposium.

Webb, a serious weekend painter during his tenure at IUPUI, has been a full-time artist since 1963. He is an exhibiting painter member of the Brown County Art Gallery, Inc., and the Indiana Artists' Club, Inc. Other Webb paintings on display in the Liberal Arts offices include "Fixin' to Put Up Apples," a still life relating to canning, "Ducks Awhirl," based on several quick sketches of three ducks on the pond at Eagle Creek, and "Barn Blues," which focuses on a Putnam County barn.
