SCHOOL OF LIBERAL ARTS DEAN’S DAY PROGRAM SET
IU School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI presents "Screening the Liberal Arts" during Dean's Day 2000 celebration Saturday, Oct. 28 at University Library. IUPUI faculty and distinguished guests speakers will discuss how history, literature, politics and law are treated in film, one of the most popular media for mass entertainment. Speakers include Jeff Sparks, president of the Heartland Film Festival, and Ann Laker, film reviewer for “Nuvo Newsweekly.” Workshop titles include “Law, Lawyers & Trials in American Cinema”, “Jane Austen on Film: Bringing the Past into the Present,“ and “‘Goodbye to Mr. Chips‘: Film Versions of Teaching and the Way to Educational Reform.”
