Biotechnology Certificate Training Program Enrolling for Fall 2004

Archaeological Field School students are excavating shovel test pits at Arsenal Tech High School in order to identify areas for future archaeological digs on the campus.

IUPUI, State Museum and IPS Conduct Joint Archaeological Survey at Arsenal Tech
Students in IUPUI’s 2004 Archaeological Field School are spending their last two weeks of summer school digging at Arsenal Technical High School. Under the direction of IUPUI Professor Paul Mullins, the students are conducting a preliminary archaeological survey of selected portions of the campus, which was the Indiana State Arsenal during the Civil War.

Herron School of Art & Design junior Desiree Beauchamp designed the winning sculpture to be displayed in the atrium of a downtown office tower. The sculpture, which features a grouping of multi-colored felt houses that illustrate a child’s perception of a happy home, will be displayed for one year at Duke Realty Corporation’s One North Capitol office building.

IU Dental School Names Garetto as Associate Dean for Dental Education
Lawrence P. Garetto has been appointed as associate dean for dental education at Indiana University School of Dentistry, effective June 1, 2004. He succeeds James L. McDonald Jr., who retired in May. In his role as associate dean, Garetto will oversee the school’s predoctoral curriculum.
