Archaelogy Field School students are shown starting the excavation of a well on the dig site at University Boulevard and Michigan Street. Summer School Students Are Digging Up Colorful Campus Past Summer school for about a dozen IUPUI students means six-hour days spent digging in the dirt at the campus lot chosen for a new $50-million student activities center. [Complete details] Five IUPUI Faculty Receive 2003 FACET Award Five IUPUI faculty members were among the 21 IU professors chosen statewide to receive 2003 Faculty Colloquium on Excellence in Teaching (FACET) awards. FACET awards are presented to faculty members who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to teaching and learning through areas of self-evaluation, course preparation, research and instructional skills, and student impact. The 2003 IUPUI FACET honorees are: Connie Rowles, associate clinical professor of nursing; Richard Emery Nickolson, professor of painting and drawing; Richard Gunderman, assistant professor of philosophy and radiology; Jeffrey S. Wilson, assistant professor of geography; and Kathleen A. Marrs, assistant professor of biology. He will demonstrate his expertise in furniture design on Home & Garden Television's "Modern Masters" June 4.
