IUPUI named 21 student residential “houses” and a street after community heroes and leaders during the May 26 dedication of the Campus Apartments on the River Walk. IUPUI sophomore Kyle Mattingly (above) is shown warming up for his dedication performance of “Wes” Montgomery’s “Bumpin’ on Sunset.” Montgomery is one of the Hoosier notables chosen as namesakes for the student apartments. IU President Adam W. Herbert addressed the crowd which included some 80 relatives and friends of the people honored. As part of the festivities, Student Life and Diversity hosted a reception for relatives of those honored during the naming ceremony. The reception included an exhibit of photographs and bios of each namesake. The exhibit will be on display throughout the summer at the Cultural Arts Gallery, Room 115 University College. |

IUPUI Names Shann Hart Head Women’s Basketball Coach The IUPUI Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has chosen Shann Hart as its new head Women’s Basketball Coach, Athletics Director Mike Moore announced today. Hart comes to IUPUI from American University where she led the Eagles’ women’s basketball program to a remarkable turnaround. In just three years, she turned a team that went 4-23 her first season to one that went 18-11 during her third campaign. Bolton won the statewide competition which is open to interior design students from around the state.
