ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY STUDENTS TAKE HOME TOP PRIZE
Four mechanical engineering technology students recently took home the top prize for their design of a basic utility vehicle (BUV). The students competed last weekend in the 2002 B.U.V. Collegiate Design Competition where they competed against schools from across the nation. The competition, sponsored by the Institute of Affordable Transportation, was created to develop simple, low-cost utility vehicles that can benefit low-income people in rural areas of third-world countries.
