“7 a.m. Drill,” a water color by Cecile Johnson, is included in an exhibit of wartime-related art on display at the National Art Museum of Sport until May 31. Johnson created the piece under assignment from the U.S. Navy to paint women Marines and Navy nurses. It is on loan from the U.S. Navy Art Collection.


National Art Museum of Sport opens Exhibit of “Greatest Generation of Sport Artists in War and Peace”
The new National Art Museum of Sport exhibit at University Place, “The Greatest Generation of Sports Artists in War and Peace,” focuses on the work of artists who served in World War II as combat artists, artist-correspondents or members of the armed forces who drew in their down time.

More than 35,000 people participated in the 13th annual Komen Indianapolis Race for the Cure held at IUPUI and Military Park on April 24. IUPUI raised more than $17,500 for the campaign to eradicate breast cancer and once again won the award for the largest team in the school/university catagory with more than 840 team members. While final figures are still outstanding, race officials estimate total donations will surpass $1 million.

Ballet Folklorico to Perform at IUPUI

Dental Faculty Member Named Department Chair
