[Complete details] KELLEY-INDIANAPOLIS GRADUATE WINS "DISTINGUISHED ENTREPRENEUR" AWARD Kelley School of Business Indianapolis graduate Michael Hatfield, President and CEO of Calix Networks, was honored with the "Distinguished Entrepreneur Award" at the annual IU Kelley Business Conference last month. The award has been given each year since 1974 to an IU Kelley School of Business alumnus for significant innovation and achievement in building a business. [Complete details] RACE FOR THE CURE Friday, March 30, is the final day to sign up for IUPUI's Race for the Cure team. All team applications and $18 registration fees are due to the Communications & Marketing Office, Room 136 of the Administration Building. Race for the Cure is a 5K run/walk and 1-mile family walk that benefits breast cancer research. IUPUI is a sponsor and host site for this event. Proenza will present "Remember the Alamo! Reflections on the Americanization of a Mexican" at 4 p.m. in the Lilly Auditorium located on the lower level of the University Library. [Complete details]	Photo by John Gentry CHANCELLOR AND STUDENT IUPUI "Chancellor" Isis Reyes confers with student Jerry Bepko. The role reversal was all part of last week's Chancellor For a Day. Reyes, a freshman biology major, bought the winning raffle ticket that gave her the opportunity to look behind the scenes and get a sense of the issues that a chancellor must deal with at a large urban campus. It also allowed the chancellor to spend time with students in the classes "Chancellor" Reyes would otherwise have been attending that day. 2001 CAMPUS CAMPAIGN PICNIC Join the celebration on Friday, April 6 from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. with an old-fashioned hog roast, fish fry, grilled corn on the cob, and apple cobbler at the Lockfielde Green Culdesac across from the Conference Center under the tents at North and Blake Ave. All American Picnic Company will cater the picnic and The Cool Chili's will provide the entertainment. IUPUI STUDENT INTERN WITH INDIANA LEGENDS LEARNS WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE COACH When the ABA2000 Indiana Legends take the floor at Hinkle Fieldhouse, IUPUI's Jason Thompson takes to a seat high above the opposing team's basket. From this vantage point, Thompson goes to work on his most important task as a Legend student intern: charting what the opponents do offensively and defensively and suggesting adjustments the Legends should make at half-time.
