Purdue School of Engineering and Technology Associate Professor Aydin Ungan

Purdue School of Engineering and Technology Associate Professor Aydin Ungan passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 12 as a result of a recurring heart condition. Ungan had taught heat and mass transfer for IUPUI since 1986. "Aydin was a well-respected faculty member in mechanical engineering who was very popular with his students because of his great teaching style and accessibility. He will be missed dearly by all," said Engineering and Technology Dean Oner Yurtseven. Ungan was 45 and survived by his wife Nur and his two children Deniz (16) and Volkan (14).

SCHOOLS SPORTING NEW SITES
If you've been surfing the web lately, you may have noticed that schools all across campus are updating the look of their web sites. Most recently, the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology site has a new design that makes it more organized and easier to navigate. The Kelley School of Business also got a complete makeover and visitors can now get the latest school news, view faculty bios, and search the entire site. SPEA spruced up its site with a snazzy new interface and multimedia presentation about the school. The School of Education's new look allows students to apply online and check for job openings in education. It's also more inviting with lots of pictures of students. The IU School of Law has also updated its site and coming soon will be new sites for Herron, Allied Health and Liberal Arts. Liberal Arts plans to include a complete list of faculty bios and photos and will offer students up-to-the-minute information on the Student Affairs page.
