Adverse Weather Updates for IUPUI
IUPUI provides a phone number and website where students, faculty, and staff can check to see if classes will be held in adverse weather. The site also lists media that will be notified of any university closing, as well as links to weather and commuting information sites. Visit http://registrar.iupui.edu/adverseweather.html. The site also can be reached from the "Advisories" link on the IUPUI homepage http://www.iupui.edu or from the "Weather/Emergencies" link on the Registrar's homepage http://registrar.iupui.edu.

A Meditation of Fire: The Art of James C. Watkins is running through April 18 at the Eiteljorg Museum. This exhibition features 29 of the most extraordinary pieces of ceramics ever exhibited in one room at the Eiteljorg. The show is being held in conjunction with the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts which Watkins will attend. Watkins is shown in his studio. Admission is free with IUPUI OneCard or or IUPUI student I.D.


John L. Krauss

Krauss Appointed Director of IUPUI Center for Urban Policy and the Environment
John L. Krauss, clinical professor at the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) and adjunct professor at the IU School of Law-Indianapolis, has been named director of the IUPUI Center for Urban Policy and the Environment. Krauss replaces Dr. Greg Lindsey, who was recently appointed associate dean of SPEA’s Indianapolis programs.

Home Show to Exhibit, Sell Herron Students’ Furniture Pieces
Furniture design students from the Herron School of Art at IUPUI will exhibit and sell some of their original pieces of gallery-quality furniture at the Indianapolis Home Show, Jan. 30 – Feb. 8 at the Indianapolis State Fairgrounds, 1202 E. 38th St.

Artist Charles Gick's "Drought Table" will contribute to the earthly element in "Earth, Air, Fire & Water" at the iMOCA exhibit in the Herron Gallery. To create the effect, Gick poured mud over a heavy table and let it set over several days to develop cracks. His and other artists' work will be on exhibit Jan. 23 - Feb. 21.

Installation Art Transforms Herron Gallery for iMOCA Exhibit
The Herron Gallery has transformed itself into a walking show piece, as part of “Earth, Air, Fire & Water,” an exhibit which runs Jan. 23- Feb. 21. Installation artwork, or artwork that extends from created objects to their surroundings, will be featured as part of an exhibit presented by the Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art (iMOCA) and the Herron Gallery.
