35th Annual IUPUI Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dinner
Tickets are still on sale for the IUPUI Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dinner to be held at 6 p.m., Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at the Marriott Ballroom of the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown. This year’s keynote speaker is Kevin Powell.
Tickets, sold on a first come, first served basis, are available in the office of Campus & Community Life. Prices are $20 for IUPUI undergraduate students; and $35 for faculty, staff, graduate students and community guests. Ticket sales will officially end at 5 p.m., Jan. 10, 2005, or earlier if the event sells out. Cash and checks, made payable to IUPUI, will be accepted.

University Library to Host Professional Development Workshops
University Library is hosting two upcoming Professional Development workshops about using library resources.
“Integrating Library Resources into Your Distance Accessible Course” will be held from 1:30 – 3 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 04, 2005, in Room 1130 of University Library. This workshop will address issues such as how to put an article link directly into Oncourse that can be opened by all students, even those outside of Indiana; how to use ERROL; and what options are available when an electronic version isn’t available for IUPUI.
A second workshop, “Journal Impact Factor Workshop: ISI’s “Journal Citation Reports on the Web,” will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, in Room 1130 of University Library. Participants will learn how to perform a number of tasks, including how to discover high-impact journals in their research areas, how to determine which journals are cited most quickly, and how to obtain a ranked list of journals for a research area.
