Sport Complex Offers Swimming and Tennis Lessons
Register now for Learn to Swim classes, Aqua Fitness classes, and tennis lessons at the IUPUI Sport Complex.

Office of Professional Development Offers a Variety of Workshops Throughout September
Workshops scheduled include:
• Faculty Portfolio Workshop Series, 5 - 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 16, University Library, Room 2115E. Sessions take a faculty member from the idea of a faculty portfolio through the difficult steps of writing a personal statement, collecting and representing student and peer evaluations, and putting the portfolio together. Limit: 25 people.
• Proposal Development Workshop, 10 - 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 17, University Library, Room 1125M. Session will focus on the essentials of building a successful grant proposal. A variety of topics from basic budgets to writing style, interpreting agency guidelines to securing institutional review board (IRB) approval, will be covered.
• Writing and Using Learning Objectives to Guide Learning, 5 - 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 17, University Library, Room 1125M. Participants will practice identification and construction of clear measurable objectives. These objectives will serve as the basis for choosing classroom activities and assessment strategies.

SBC Fellows Program
The SBC Fellows Program (formerly Ameritech Fellows) is requesting proposals as it continues into its fifth year of funding. Faculty on all IU campuses are invited to submit proposals for projects that advance innovation in the application of information technology (IT) to teaching and learning.
The deadline for proposals is Sept. 12, 2003. Awards will be announced Oct. 24, 2003.
